Lithium Batteries
Lithium batteries are sometimes called button cells, watch batteries or lithium primary batteries. They are often shaped like a short and squat cylinder.
Ni-Cd Batteries
Nickel-metal cadmium batteries are also known by other names including NiCD, NiCD, Ni-Cd or Ni-Cad. These batteries are rechargeable which makes them popular for use in cordless tools and other wireless devices. Though their popularity is waning, many companies still configure their products for use with Ni-Cd batteries.
Lead-Acid Batteries
Targeted to those applications when surge current is unimportant, lead-acid batteries are manufactured in a variety of sizes and shapes. Cell phone towers, vehicles, marine electronics and forklifts are some applications that use large-format lead-acid batteries.
LiFePO4 Batteries
Lithium iron phosphate (LFP) is a compound that's used in lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries. LiFePO4 batteries commonly provide the power for electric vehicles and power tools.
Absolyte Batteries
A lead-acid battery, absolyte batteries are valve regulated (VRLA), single-cell batteries. They are also maintenance free because they don't require topping up. These special, high current performance batteries are found within the telecommunications field and are highly recyclable in spite of myths to the contrary.
LiMnO2 Batteries
A lightweight battery that is often seen in cameras, defibrillators and other similar products, a LiMnO2 battery might be called a lithium manganese dioxide battery. Eventually, this type of battery discharges by itself over time.
Alkaline Batteries
Recognized as the most common type of household battery, alkaline batteries are used to power a range of diverse electronics including flashlights, children's toys, remote controls and more. Because of the chemical makeup of alkaline batteries, they have little monetary value. There is usually a charge to recycle them.
“Aviation Aircraft Style” Wet NiCD Batteries
Typically encased in steel to protect the battery's components, aviation aircraft batteries are used to provide the starting power for airplane engines.
